In France, 6,7 millions of people are victims of incest. Incestuous families can be found in every social backgrounds,
it’s almost 10% of French residents, and more or less 3 kids in classroom of 30.
French Parliament just passed a bill called the Santiago Law that protects children victims of incest only when the abusive parents is prosecuted, not before during the course of the investigation THAT CAN LAST UP TO 3 YEARS.
So during this period of time, the law requires the child victim of incest to keep on seeing his abusive parent
and still be exposed to the same abuses.
Face à l’Inceste Association wanted to let French people know about this law and start a discussion
about a change in the law to protect the children as soon as they reveal incest.
